Sadness (USA) is a solo music project known for its unique blend of atmospheric and depressive black metal. The project's sound is characterized by melancholic melodies, ethereal soundscapes, and an emotional depth that resonates with listeners.

In the release "______," also known as "Rabbit," Sadness continues to blend emo with black metal distinctly and compellingly. The vocal lines are exceptional, drawing comparisons to earlier works like "I Want to Be There." The ambient sections of the album are meticulously crafted, featuring pleasing synth arrangements that enhance the overall mood.

This album leans more into electronic elements than previous releases, yet it balances these new features with the signature sound that Sadness is known for. Integrating electronic influences feels natural, adding depth and texture to the music without overshadowing its emotional core.

A standout track in this regard is "Orange Love," a vibrant and uplifting piece that conjures the image of an orange sunset. This track encapsulates the album's ability to seamlessly merge festive and melancholic tones, creating a listening experience that is both nostalgic and refreshing.

"Blank" is highly recommended for fans who enjoy a diverse range of music, from the atmospheric soundscapes of Deafheaven to the more mainstream appeal of The Killers. This album expands Sadness's sonic palette and reaffirms the band's ability to innovate while staying true to their roots.
